Yes, we’ve been to Walt Disney World in the past but we love going back and staying at resorts we haven’t in the past and seeing all the changes to the parks since the last time we were there. Things change so quickly at WDW and every time we go there’s something new to check out! If it’s not a new ride, character or parade, it’s new food and souvenirs!
This trip we had a little more time and it was all about doing things on our bucket lists…taking the time to do things we passed over in the past because the boys were smaller and we were doing the rides and parades etc. or just didn’t have the time. We also did a few “lasts” this time as some things were going to be leaving the parks by the time we came back for another visit.
This time we stayed in a Club Level room at the Polynesian resort, did the dessert party at the Magic Kingdom, had an early morning breakfast reservation at a restaurant in the park so we could get pictures by the castle without a ton of people in them, rented Sea Raycer (boats), collected transportation cards from the drivers of the monorail, bus and boats, did Jedi training at Hollywood Studios, looked for hidden Mickeys and finally, the boys got to get made-over to look like pirates at the Magic Kingdom! We did the Flower & Garden Festival at Epcot and the boys did the Kidcot there too (where they go around to each country and get stamps in their passports). They tried the Beverly, and we ate Brats in Germany. Then, the things we HAD to do this trip because they would be gone before our next trip…we rode Maelstrom (the boat ride in Norway) for the last time before it was transformed over for Frozen, played in Honey I Shrunk the Kids playgound, watched one last show at Lights, Motor Action Extreme Stunt Show, took a picture under the raining umbrella. Mark and the boys also did the Richard Petty racing experience! Whew, that’s a lot of things checked off our list in one trip!
This was also the first time any of us had visited Animal Kingdom and we all loved it way more than we thought we would. We spent some time in Downtown Disney (now known as Disney Springs) as we do each trip as well. You could spend a whole day there just walking around and looking at everything there is there!
After this trip I don’t know how my boys (or Mark) will ever want to go again without staying in the Club Level. They had snacks for breakfast, lunch and firework time! We loved going up there and getting snacks and watching the fireworks at the Magic Kingdom (they piped in the music), while relaxing without a crowd. The room was amazing and even though they were doing construction for some new villas, it never bothered us. We even got some welcome gifts when we arrived. We are big on park hopping so we would stop back to the resort in between parks and get snacks so it worked great for us to utilize that service.
This was such a fun trip…as the boys get older, they enjoy different things so we always find something else to do at the parks….what will it be next time?
